Explaining Schizophrenia from Medical and Philosophical Perspective

Background: Schizophrenia is a multifactorial two-faced disease with the cognitive impairment being core of both positive and negative group symptoms. It characterized by abnormal behavior, strange speech (word salad) decreased ability to understand reality. Methods: Using literature review, author’s own experience reflections about subject, schizophrenia explained conceptualized from medical philosophical perspective. Conclusion: serious illness, treatment which remains challenge. Many factors may contribute development including (neuro) immune system dysregulation, genetic susceptibility, pregnancy birth complications, childhood trauma, social isolation, substance abuse, many others. Multidisciplinary approach in should be preferred include, except for psychopharmacology psychotherapy (psychiatrist, clinical psychologist), nutritional advice (clinical nutritionist), spiritual support (for religious individuals case delusions present), (social worker), therapy, art work therapy.
